Magic Touch 2009 Junior championship - fourth round 13th June
The fourth round of the Magic Touch Junior petanque championship was held today at St Mary’s.
The star of today’s competition was Evie Le Breton who was the only player to win all three of her games with a creditable net score of +21. Logan Stratford +10, Jade Perez +6 and Wesley Bowen +4 each won 2 out of their 3 games. Youngest player Aaron Perez got one win.
With the season now well under way, nine players in the younger group have completed all four rounds. Once players have competed in 5 rounds, they will have accumulated the 15 results they need to be eligible for the overall Championship places. Additional wins in the remaining rounds will mean that players can drop a ‘lost’ result from their 15 scores and replace it with any wins they get, thus improving their position in the final placings. Already Logan Stratford had 9 wins to his credit and Cerys Thompson has 8. Close behind are Adam Le Gresley and Jade Perez each with 6 wins.
Only two of the 12 entrants in this round were in the elder age group, however both Chloe Redshaw and Dominic Perez have attended each round to date and they are very closely matched overall, Chloe having accumulated 7 wins and Dom 6 wins.
The excitement will begin to mount with each month’s competition!
