2008 Junior Championship - round five
Ten players took part in the fifth round of the 2008 Junior championship took place on the challenging terrains of the St Mary’s Petanque Club. It was however pleasing to once again welcome to new young players; Shannon Goggin to the Senior group and Keenan Danten to the Junior group. Both of them showed promise and played well.
In the younger age group Ashyanna Cooper was the only unbeaten competitor of the day and so won the group.with a net score of +15. Marie Guegan and newcomer Keenan Danton each won two games and Jade Perez was unlucky to only win one game as she was playing very well.
The senior age group Stephen Tyler played a singles game against strong leader Jacob Romeril and took a creditable win 11-9. Jacob then took his revenge, partnered with Shannon he beat Stephan who was paired with Keely 11-1.
Overall Jacob was top performer with 2 wins and a net score of +18.
