Summer League - Final positions
The last outstanding fixtures of the Magic Touch summer Petanque leagues have all now been completed.
Vagabonds, who had lead the first division through the season, had to win their outstanding match against Falcons to ensure they won the trophy and despite some very close games, they pulled off a 4-2 win to secure the trophy.
Outlaws had been behind early on, but they finished the season well and pulled up to equal Vagabonds on points, but they had the lower games difference of +12 and therefore lost out on the top spot by just 2 points!
In third place were Occidentals. Admirals and Falcons will be relegated to the second division next summer.
Division Two winners Grantez were held to a draw in their final match against Coin Tourgis, but still finished 2 points ahead of runners up Grouville. These two teams will play in Division One next summer. Despite a flourishing 6-0 win against Wednesday Mob to close their season, Coin Tourgis will be relegated along with Pioneers to the third division.
Country Gang secured first place in Division three, though some good wins late in the season pulled Lollabouts up to the same points total as Country Gang, but lost out by their lower net game difference. Les Hirondelles who had lead the division for most of the season lost out on promotion and finished up in third slot.
The Winter leagues will commence in October, but meanwhile watch out for the new competition The JPA Knock Out Cup. Details coming soon; starts on Thursday 7th August.
