Winter league report 17 February 2008
This week saw the last scheduled matches in Division One as Vagabonds completed their season with a 4-2 win over Coin Tourgis to win the Winter league. They accumulated the very creditable games difference of +30.
Although Grouville have one game still to play, they are not now able to beaten for the runner up position, despite Outlaws winning 6-0 to move up into third position.
Taylormade and Coin Tourgis are both safe in mid league, but the relegation places will depend on the final match to be played Sunday 24 February between Grouville and Admirals. Only a win from this match will save Admirals from joining St Mary in division two next winter, anything less than the two points and it will be Wrinkleys who stay up.
Division Two with 3 more weeks matches to be played; seems to be developing into a three way chase for the top. Occidentals played an outstanding match against Liberators as well as their scheduled match against Wednesday Mob and they won both matches 5-1, lifting them to first place.
Country Gang had a resounding 6-0 win over bottom placed Fleur de Lys and now tie with Les Hirondelles who were held to a draw by Bean Around the Block, though Les Hirondelles still have games in hand.
Grantez, Pioneers and Bean Around the Block are all still in with a chance of a promotion place.
