Winter League report 10 February 2008
There were some significant match results this week, with league leaders Vagabonds beating close rivals Taylormade 6-0.
This means that just one point from their concluding match of the season against Coin Tourgis will clinch the title for them.
Grouville pulled back from losing the first three games, to gain a draw against Coin Tourgis. Outlaws took over Taylomade’s third place by beating them 6-0.
Admirals moved off bottom place with a 5-1 win against Wrinkleys. With a game in hand, Admirals have a chance of avoiding relegation, though St Mary are now certain to be relegated next winter.
Les Hirondelles maintained their lead in division two with a 6-0 win against Wednesday Mob. Occidentals having won an outstanding match against Wednesday Mob, then lost their scheduled match against Country Gang. Grantez slipped from third to fourth having suffered defeat to Liberators. With a minimum of four more matches yet to be played, the challenge for the second promotion place is very tight and of course Les Hirondelles, while in a promising position, are not yet guaranteed promotion.
