Jersey Petanque club unbeaten to win trophy!
The Jersey Petanque club hosted the final fixture of the 2007 Inter Club league against St Mary’s Petanque Club on Monday 13 August. Although the home side had already secured the trophy being unbeaten, this last match was the decider for runner up position. Both St Mary’s PC and Carrefour having won one match each.
Unfortunately St Mary’s were one player short, thus forfeiting on singles game and playing just one player in one of the doubles, and two players in one of the triples.
Both Ken le Brun and Robert Dudley won singles for St Mary’s, beating Elaine Paisnel and Alf le Masurier respectively. While all the doubles were won by JPC, the triple of Robert Dudley, Ron Carter and Mark Evans won 13-11.
With three wins, St Mary just failed to take second place from Carrefour PC who finished with two more games to their credit.
